Franco

Franco is an accouter who has been living in Marcy about fifty years. He received a letter mailed fifty years ago.
It has a long story. He was nineteen and was living in Paris. Their family had a neighbor. They had good relationship with each other.
The daughter of their neighbor was so beautiful. Her name was Anne. Franco and Anne loved each other and most of the time they went out together.

In the restaurant

Franco said, "Anne if I wasn't in this world what would you do?"
Anne answered , "don't say that. "

Franco said, "Anne please answer to my question. As you know a war is going to begin in our country, Germans attacked to our country and I don't know what will happen to us in future. "
Anne said, "now that's important that we are with each other. I cant imagine myself without you. " Franco said , "I promise to be with you for ever. "
They really loved each other even though their fate was something else.
They left the restaurant and Franco took his girl friend to her house and they left each other.

Next day

Anne was looking out of window while she was listening to radio.
Radio speaker said, " The France
pay attention . Germans attacked to our country."
Meanwhile the glass which was in her hand fall down and she bended to collect pieces of glass but her hand was injured by them. She understood how difficult things will happen from these events. Then she saw the postman, he came toward the Franco's house and knocked the door. His mother opened the door and took the letter then she put her hand on her face. Anne was so curious to know what that letter was.

Franco's house

He was reading the letter and his family were around him. They were sad. His mother said, "Why Germans don't allow us to live? " As she was crying. Franco firmly said, "I must join to army."

It seems that Franco himself knew that one day he must go to war and that was why he asked Anne that question.


In church - Sunday

Franco saw Anne again and told her what the letter was about. Anne became upset because she knew that she couldn't stand be far from him. And asked him, "couldn't I come with you? "
Franco answered , "no I have to go. You must be here to help injured soldiers. " Anne begged, " you must come back healthy ok? "
Franco with smile said, "Roger that."


The day of Farewell

In this day the young French people were ready to defend their country and go to war and Franco was one of them. they were pressure to do it even though no one knew who would come back healthy.
Franco and Anne met each other again but Anne didn't know that was the last time to saw him in her life.
Franco wiped her tears from her face and embrace her. and he went far and further until he fade.
In the war Franco always thought about Anne and tried to do her request , means , being survived. But Germans were so powerful and French soldiers couldn't stay against them and became internees.
No one had news about him and all thought that he was killed but Anne didn't believe it. She went toward Franco's house and knocked the door and his mother opened the door. Anne stressfully asked, do you have any news about Franco? "
She answered, not yet but I know he is healthy. Do you want to wait for him? "
She answered with pause , I took swear to wait for him.

In Germany's camp

Franco was passing difficult days but the hope of seeing Anne again made difficulties , stand able.
He considered that, as he had many difficulties , French people and Anne had lots of problems too, but he believed that they would be victory.

After six months he cane back to his own country but he shocked when he saw his town because everything was destroyed. He went toward his house but his family left the city but he hoped to saw Anne then he went toward Anne's house. He wanted to surprised Anne but he saw a scene which changed his life. Anne was talking to another boy and kissing each other. Franco became so upset and he thought that Anne didn't love him any more and forgot him. And blamed himself and was talking to himself, "she loved me, she said she couldn't stand without you, and wanted to be with you forever…"
So he left city forever and didn't say anything to her. He went to Marcy.

After a while Anne found his new address and sent him a letter and told him all the truth but Franco never received it ……

Fifty years later

Franco received her letter after fifty years. He read her letter and started crying and said, "I never forgive myself. It was just misunderstanding. I must find her to say , I still love you. "
